Task description

For the Cloud club and event venue in Erlangen—operated under the Basement 11 umbrella—the first step was to create a standalone logo that clearly positions the brand: a bar, club, lounge, and events all under one roof, with a distinctive visual identity. This was followed by the development of a complete WordPress website that showcases the program, venues, booking options, and drink menu.

Implementation

The logo combines two levels of meaning in a figurative mark: A stylized cloud represents the club’s name, “Cloud,” while a straw inside the capital “O” of the lettering subtly references the drinks and bar offerings. The tagline “Bar · Club · Lounge & Events” rounds out the message. The vector graphic was designed in three versions—color, black-and-white, and white—so that the logo works equally well on dark club backgrounds, in print media, and in video overlays.

The WordPress website was built using Avada—a page builder I wouldn’t use today, but which was a practical solution at the time for the extensive site structure, including locations, the program, booking pages, and the drink menu. The website is responsive and covers all of the venue’s event and booking operations.

Result

A striking logo with dual meanings and a comprehensive event venue website—both from a single source. Cloud Erlangen has since ceased operations; the logo and website stand as a completed project that integrated branding and digital presence from the very beginning.
