Content refers to all the material on a website—text, images, videos, downloads, and graphics. In the context of web design, people often say, “Content is King”—because even the most beautiful website is useless without relevant, clear content. One thing that’s frequently underestimated in website projects is the effort required to create content: Whoever provides the text and images often dictates the timeline. Good content answers visitors’ questions, is written in a way that’s easy to understand, and is structured for search engines. If it’s too long, customers will leave; if it’s too short, they won’t stay on your website any longer than necessary.
